Hear from Our Customers
You’ve probably heard that above ground pools are the “budget option.” That’s true. But it doesn’t mean you’re settling.
A well-built above ground pool gives you the same summer—the same cannonballs, the same floating afternoons, the same reason to invite people over. You’re just not spending five figures on excavation, concrete, and permits. You’re also not waiting until next season to swim.
Installation takes days, not months. Maintenance is straightforward. And if you ever move or want to reconfigure your yard, you’re not stuck with a permanent concrete hole. You get flexibility, speed, and a pool that actually fits your life right now—not some idealized version of it three years from now.
Deep Waters Pools started in 2014, but the experience behind it goes back more than 30 years. We’ve done concrete work, plumbing, custom builds—the kind of hands-on experience that teaches you what actually matters when you’re putting a pool in someone’s backyard.
We’re not a franchise. We’re a local business serving families across South Georgia, including Jacksonville. That means we understand the soil here, the weather patterns, the permitting process, and what it takes to install a pool that lasts.
We don’t upsell you into something you don’t need. We also don’t cut corners to hit a price point. You get honest pricing, quality materials, and a pool that does exactly what you hired us to build.
First, we come out and look at your yard. We’re checking for space, ground conditions, drainage, and access. Jacksonville properties vary—some have sandy soil, some have clay, some have slopes or trees that affect placement. We figure out what works before we start digging.
Once you approve the design and pricing, we prep the site. That means leveling the ground, laying a solid base, and making sure everything drains properly. Then we assemble the pool structure, install the liner, and connect your filtration system.
After that, we walk you through how everything works—how to maintain water chemistry, when to clean the filter, what to watch for. You’re not left guessing. We also offer ongoing support if something comes up later, because pools are simple but they’re not automatic.
Most installations wrap up in less than a week. You’re swimming before the weekend.
Ready to get started?
Every above ground pool installation includes site evaluation, ground prep, full assembly, liner installation, and equipment setup. We don’t hand you a kit and walk away. We build it, test it, and make sure it’s ready to fill.
We also help with the stuff most people don’t think about until it’s too late—like making sure your yard has proper drainage so your pool doesn’t turn into a mud pit after a heavy rain. Jacksonville gets its share of summer storms, and how your site is prepped matters more than most people realize.
You’ll also get a walkthrough on maintenance. We’re not trying to sell you a monthly service contract. We just want you to know how to keep your water clear, your filter clean, and your pool running without calling us every other week. If you do need help down the road, we’re here. But most people don’t.
Most above ground pool installations in Jacksonville run between $3,000 and $8,000 depending on size, materials, and site prep. That’s a fraction of what you’d pay for an in-ground pool, which typically starts around $30,000 and goes up from there.
The biggest variables are the pool size, the quality of the liner and frame, and how much work your yard needs before installation. If your ground is already level and accessible, costs stay lower. If we need to move dirt, add drainage, or work around obstacles, that adds time and materials.
We give you a flat quote upfront. No surprises, no change orders unless you change the plan. You’ll know exactly what you’re paying before we start.
It depends on the size and setup. In most cases, above ground pools under a certain height don’t require a permit in Jacksonville, but if you’re adding a deck, electrical work, or permanent plumbing, the rules change.
We help you figure out what applies to your property. Permitting isn’t complicated, but it does require paperwork and sometimes an inspection. If you skip it and your county finds out later, you could be forced to remove the pool or pay fines.
We’ve done this enough times to know what triggers a permit requirement and what doesn’t. We’ll walk you through it during the site visit so there’s no guesswork.
Most installations take three to five days from start to finish. That includes site prep, assembly, equipment hookup, and final checks. If your yard needs extra grading or drainage work, it might take a bit longer.
Compare that to in-ground pools, which can take weeks or even months depending on weather, inspections, and contractor schedules. With an above ground pool, you’re swimming the same week we start.
Weather can slow things down—if it rains heavily during prep, we’ll wait for the ground to dry before moving forward. But once we’re on site, the process moves quickly.
Not if you stay on top of the basics. You’ll need to test your water a couple times a week, add chemicals as needed, and clean your filter regularly. It’s not complicated, but it does require consistency.
Most people get the hang of it within the first few weeks. We’ll show you how to balance pH, manage chlorine levels, and spot problems before they turn into algae blooms or cloudy water. You don’t need to be a chemist—you just need to follow a routine.
If you don’t want to handle it yourself, there are pool maintenance services in Jacksonville that can do it for you. But most of our customers prefer to manage it themselves once they see how straightforward it is.
Yes, as long as they’re installed correctly. Jacksonville has sandy and clay soils depending on where you are, plus high water tables in some areas. That affects how we prep your site and what kind of base we use.
We also account for drainage. Summer storms drop a lot of water in a short time, and if your pool site doesn’t drain properly, you’ll end up with erosion or standing water around the base. We grade and compact the area to prevent that.
Above ground pools handle heat and sun well, but the liner and frame quality matter. Cheap materials break down faster under UV exposure. We use durable liners and corrosion-resistant frames that hold up to South Georgia summers without warping or fading.
The main difference is installation quality and materials. Big box store pools are often DIY kits with thinner liners, lighter frames, and minimal support. They’re cheap upfront, but they don’t last as long and they’re harder to set up correctly if you’ve never done it before.
We use commercial-grade materials and handle the entire installation. Your pool is level, properly supported, and built to last more than a couple seasons. You’re also not troubleshooting problems on your own—if something goes wrong, you call us.
The other difference is site prep. A pool that’s not installed on a properly leveled and compacted base will shift, leak, or collapse. We’ve seen it happen with DIY installs. You save money upfront, then spend more fixing problems that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
